Adam is a multitalented game developer who graduated from Kennesaw State University's ABET-accredited game development program with a B.S. in Computer Game Design and Development and a Minor in Computer Science.
Their experience in enterprise software maintenance and development, as well as game development for research, education, Virtual Reality, and commercial entertainment products have shaped them into a jack-of-all trades with a unwavering focus on the user's experience and interface with software products.
Adam's education and professional experience have gained them command of the Unity and Unreal game engines, and have familiarized them with industry-standard professional game development tools and practices.
Fairy Ring Games is Adam's personal brand and encompasses any project or product to which they have partial or complete intellectual ownership rights. Invoking the Celtic myth of the fairy ring as a portal to the realm of the Fae, games and experiences bearing the Fairy Ring name are portals to meaningful, immersive experiences that transport players to other worlds.
I have had the privilege to work on a variety of games during my education and professional experiences. During this time, I have gained many skills and become familiar with many industry-standard technologies and practices. My degree program was a Bachelor's of Science in Game Development program that was built off of the foundation of a Computer Science degree, and so my skillset is well balanced between design and practical implementation.

I am still quite early in my sound design adventures, but I have had such a blast so far! My background is that of a symphonic musician and soundboard technician, so it feels so gratifying to use my ears again. I'm even trying my hand at some amateur composition in my free time. Check back here often to see my growth!

Schwer is a VR platformer adventure game for HTC Vive made in Unity by a student team of four: Adam Boyd, Nick Genova, Nick Horsma, and Kai Stossel. This game was part of a research study conducted by the Kennesaw State University REALITIES VR Lab under the direction of Dr. Yi (Joy) Li's graduate research program. My team was not participant in the study directly, however we rendered the development of this interactive experience as a part of our studies in educational/serious game design.
Sen-ma's is an 'Escape the Room' puzzle game for Android made in Unity by a student team of three: Adam Boyd, Nick Genova, and Marquise McFarland. In this game you play as an Egyptian pharaoh trapped in his own tomb after the betrayal of his Grand Vizier. Escape the tomb to enact your revenge and rule your kingdom for all eternity.
In this project, I was the main point of integration for each of the puzzles and systems, as well as UI programming, and puzzle design and implementation.
Schleimgarten is a platformer collect-a-thon game for PC made in Unreal Engine by a student team of three: Adam Boyd, Nick Genova, and Satchel Parker. In this game you play as a young slime attending a summer camp to learn about how to survive in a whimsical fantasy world.
In this project, I was responsible for terrain creation, level design for the starting level, main hub level, and 'the floor is lava' gameplay level, as well as a handful of auxiliary back-end systems.
